Jack Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jack Services, Inc. (“Jack,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information about you when you use the Jack app, website, services, and AI assistants (the “Services”). This policy applies to homeowners (Members and non-Members), service professionals (“Pros”), website visitors, and others who interact with Jack.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

Account information: name, email address, phone number, mailing address, payment method, and account credentials.

Home information: service address, photographs and video of your home, equipment and appliance details, materials and finishes, service history, alarm and access codes you provide, and notes you choose to add to your Digital Home Record.

Communications: messages you send to Jack through the app, email, SMS, calls (including AI assistant calls), and WalkThru sessions, including audio and video recordings, transcripts, and metadata.

Job information: details about jobs you book, the Pros assigned, scope of work, prices, schedules, change orders, completion documentation, warranty claims, and ratings.

Payment information: payment card details (handled and stored by our payment processor, Stripe — we do not store full card numbers), billing address, transaction history, and Membership Fee history.

Pro information: for service professionals, business identity, license numbers, insurance certificates, banking details for payouts, tax information, and background-check authorizations and results.

Device and usage information: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, app version, pages and features accessed, timestamps, and approximate location based on IP. We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and (where you consent) advertising.

Voice and biometric information: if you call Jack's AI voice assistant or use WalkThru, we collect audio recordings and may process voice characteristics for quality, training, and authentication. Where applicable state biometric laws require it, we obtain separate consent for biometric processing and provide a separate biometric privacy notice.

2. Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from you (when you sign up, book jobs, communicate with us), automatically from your device when you use our Services, and from third parties (background-check providers, identity-verification services, payment processors, and licensing authorities for Pro verification).

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services, including matching homeowners with Pros, executing SOWs on homeowners' behalf, processing payments, and providing the Member Workmanship Warranty;
  • Build and maintain the Digital Home Record and Custom Maintenance Plan for Members;
  • Provide the AI voice assistant and WalkThru, including by training and improving Jack's AI models;
  • Communicate with you about your account, jobs, membership, and renewals;
  • Verify Pro identity, licensing, insurance, and good standing;
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our agreements;
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to legal process, and protect the rights and safety of Jack, our users, and the public;
  • With your consent, send marketing and promotional messages, and personalize your experience; and
  • Conduct analytics, research, and product development.

4. AI Model Training

Jack uses AI to power its assistant, WalkThru, and platform features. We use information from your interactions with the Services — including text, audio, video, and home data — to train and improve our AI models. We take steps to minimize the use of identifiable information for training (including aggregation, de-identification, and access controls) and we do not sell your information to third-party AI providers.

You may opt out of having your interactions used for AI training by contacting privacy@jackservices.com or by adjusting your settings in the Jack app. Opting out does not affect Jack's use of information to provide the Services to you.

5. How We Share Personal Information

We share personal information as follows:

  • With Pros, to enable them to perform the work you have booked. Pros receive your name, address, contact information, scope of work, and access details. Pros are obligated under the Master Pro Agreement to use this information only to perform the work and to keep it confidential.
  • With service providers and processors who help us operate the Services (cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, communications, identity verification, background checks). These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations and may use the information only to provide their service to Jack.
  • With law enforcement, regulators, courts, and other authorities, when required by law or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, prevent fraud or harm, or comply with legal process.
  • In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets), in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or provide notice and choice as required by law.
  • With your consent, for any other purpose disclosed at the time of consent.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. Whether certain advertising-related sharing constitutes “selling” or “sharing” under California, Oregon, and other state privacy laws is a question we address in Section 8 (Your Privacy Rights). You can opt out of such sharing through the controls described in Section 8.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, SDKs, local storage) to authenticate users, remember preferences, analyze how the Services are used, and (where you consent) deliver advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and through our cookie preferences tool, accessible from the Jack website footer. Disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and Member benefits, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. In particular:

  • Account information: while your account is active, plus a reasonable period after closure (typically 7 years for tax and legal recordkeeping);
  • Digital Home Record: while you are a Member, plus a reasonable period after membership ends. You may request export or deletion under Section 8;
  • Job records and SOWs: at least 7 years from job completion (or longer if required by state contractor licensing laws);
  • Audio and video recordings (calls, WalkThru): typically 24 months unless retained longer for warranty, dispute, training, or legal reasons;
  • Pro records: while the Pro relationship is active, plus a reasonable period for tax, regulatory, and legal recordkeeping;
  • Payment records: at least 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including California's CCPA/CPRA, Oregon's OCPA, Colorado's CPA, Connecticut's CTDPA, Virginia's VCDPA, and others), including the rights to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it;
  • Access a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects;
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to certain purposes; and
  • Appeal a denial of your rights request.

To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@jackservices.com or use the privacy preferences tool in the Jack app. We will verify your identity before fulfilling rights requests. We will not retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, with proof of authorization.

California residents: please see our California Privacy Notice for additional disclosures.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No security measure is perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Children

The Services are not intended for, or directed to, children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at privacy@jackservices.com and we will delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Jack operates in the United States and processes personal information in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Jack app, by email, or by other means as required by law. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
